C E L E B R A T E N Y D E S I G N ! Design Days, exhibition at the Chelsea Market, organized by The Municipal Arts Society of New York, with Paola Antonelli of MOMA and Jennifer Keller. Included in the exhibit was the escargot clock by Olafur Thordarson. Other works by Karem Rashid, Vignelli, TOTEM, Boym studio and more.
Olafur Thordarson gave a Soapbox presentation at the Celebrate NY Design! event. Part of a talk by 39 top New York designers, including Dakota Jackson, Harry Allen, Boym Studio, Michael McDonough, David Rockwell, Ali Tayar, Olive, Jeffrey Osborne, Stefan Sagmeister, Karem Rashid, Lella Vignelli, and more. Included in the talk was a portion of Joe Chow's film on Thordarson's work with Skuli Sverrisson. 75 9th Avenue, New

Menorah 1998. "The Art Director's Club also commissioned Icelandic architect and designer Olafur Thordarson to design and produce a Hanukkah menorah which he sculpted of clay [and cast in concrete].
